Hi !
Im currently monitoring ~4000 Webpages using wsw V4.40.
atm i got following problem.

I'm monitoring pages using session ids most of 'em using makros. But the makro stops if the security certificat is outdated.

How can i configure my wsw to ignore security-certificates and keep checking the pages (as fast as possible) ?

Thanks in advance !

Could you please try version 4.41 beta-3 where handling of outdated certificates has been improved.
http://www.aignes.com/beta.htm

Please report back if you still have these problems with v4.41 beta.

I am trying to check the following Spanish government https web page (known to be safe) (https://sinaem4.agemed.es/ecm/paginaPresentacion.do), and WSW gets an error or stops at the IE warning "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." However, I can go directly to the page using IE8 with no problem - and no warning. I am using WSW 5.1.5. I tried using the Advanced settings (Ignore error codes from server, and check technology IE), neither of which worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This seems to be a problem with installed IE8 only, it works fine on systems with IE7.

I think I could fix this now in the latest version 5.1.6

I downloaded 5.1.6 and it still does not work. Did your previous post imply that it should work with IE8 now?

Yes, and it works fine here on my Win7 + IE8.

Do you use the default bookmark settings, or have you enabled specific options? Could you probably post the bookmark log of that bookmark?

Mostly default settings, except perhaps for "ignore error messages from server", I think. Below is today's log:

Error: open URL

Bookmark: Spain Clinical Trials on Medical Products page (Spanish)
URL: https://sinaem4.agemed.es/ecm/paginaPresentacion.do

Open saved file:

New version (07-Dec-2009)

Old version (05-Dec-2009)

Highlight Changes

Sometimes a (misconfigured) server sends an error code for valid pages.
If you can open the page in your browser but WebSite-Watcher displays an error continuously,
then the following configuration might solve this problem:

1. Open bookmark properties
2. Select the "Advanced" tab
3. Select "Check(1)" on the left side
4. Enable the option "Ignore error codes from server"

If this configurations doesn't solve the problem, you can try
the check technology "Internet Explorer / Browser" in the same category.

Thanks for the log. Do you have this problem with each check?
And which windows version do you use?

I saw that I have this problem in approx. 1/10 of my checks. If I have this error, the next check simply works again.

Thank you for staying with this, Martin. Last night's run was the first time in a couple of weeks that it ran without failing (that URL only). Unfortunately, even if it fails only 1/10 of the time, it makes it difficult to see if anything has changed after the failure...because all text is highlighted as new or changed. I can live with it if there's no other choice, but please let me know if you think of anything else I can try. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.

Do you have other URLs with a similar problem?

WebSite-Watcher should keep the last valid page as reference, so you should not see everything highlighted.
Could you please uncheck the option to ignore error codes from the server. Does this make a difference?

Since I made the switch to Windows 7/IE8, I have had intermittent problems with various pages, but none of them are consistently problematic like this one.

I will uncheck the ignore error codes option to see if that helps, and let you know. Thanks.

Martin, a new problem has appeared for this bookmark. Instead of just re-checking the bookmark once after the initial error, it is re-checking the bookmark and sending an email alert every minute until I exit WSW. Yesterday I had over 2400 emails before I stopped it, but I caught it earlier today and stopped it after only a few hundred.

The AutoWatch setting is to run once per day at 0400. Below is the logfile for one of the errors today. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Seems that you have enabled the option "Alert/Actions on error" in the bookmark properties. Is that correct?

And which check frequency do you use for that bookmark? Seems that you have configured a very low check frequency.

Seems that there is a proxy problem on your end.

Update:
I'm no longer able to open this URL in my web browser, I also get an error there.
